It’s the year 2022 and humanity has finally created a true, fully virtual reality. Of course, the first thing this new technology would be used for was playing games! So, the first “VRMMORPG” (or “Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game”) was born: Sword Art Online, called “SAO” for short.

Kirito was one of the ten thousand lucky players who were able to log in on the first day of the official release of SAO, and was happily exploring this virtual world when the Game Master revealed the horrible truth: dying in this game meant dying in the real world, and the only way to log out—to escape—was to finish the game…

The true weight of SAO dawns on Kirito, and he throws himself into a desperate battle that appears to have no end…

The Sword Art Online Board Game: Sword of Fellows is a cooperative, dice-based battle game. You will take on the role of one of six different characters who are trapped in SAO. Team up with your friends or go solo and face a series of obstacles which you must overcome in order to defeat the game and escape back to the real world.

Each character in the game has their own unique fighting techniques called “Sword Skills”. You will use your Sword Skills and other abilities to defeat the enemies you’ll encounter as you explore the world of Aincrad. But like any good MMO, you cannot defeat your enemies alone. That is too dangerous! Instead, you must use your Sword Skills in tandem with your allies to launch powerful chain attacks!
